Gathering of the Conference participants at the hotel RADISSON BLU RESORT SPLIT at 15:00 to board the coaches. The drive to Omiš takes about 45 minutes. First stop is the ZAKUČAC HYDRO POWER PLANT. This 522 MW hydroelectric plant has the largest installed capacity in Croatia, and generates about a third of Croatia’s electric energy. It is located in the vicinity of the town of Omiš. It was commissioned in 1961. and includes the PRANČEVIĆI – 35 meters high concrete gravity dam that impounds the Cetina river. This impoundment creates two reservoirs, PERUČA and BUŠKO BLATO accumulation lakes. Zakučac power plant has four FRANCIS turbines in its underground powerhouse; one at 144 MW, two at 135 MW and one at 108 MW. After the technical visit to the power plant, we shall do the short walking tour of Omiš town, before going to the typical dinner at the waterfront of the Cetina river in the unique natural surroundings. After dinner, all the participants shall be transferred to the RADISSON BLU RESORT SPLIT.
